An old-fashioned ghost story set in turn the century England, based on the novel "The Ghosts of Sleath" by James Herbert. It stars Aidan Quinn as David Ash, an American professor, who developed an interest in the paranormal after his sister accidentally drowned in childhood. He is asked by the Mariell Family to travel to Edbrook Hall, a large stately home, to talk to Nanny Tess (Anna Massey), who is convinced she is being tormented by ghosts. Whilst there, David meets the Mariell brothers Robert (Anthony Andrews) and Simon (Alex Lowe), and falls in love with their sister, the beautiful but mysterious Christina (Kate Beckinsale). But all is not as it seems...
